The HPE Aruba R8S90A is a 48-port stackable Layer 3 managed switch in the CX 6300M Series, featuring HPE Smart Rate multi-gigabit access ports supporting 100M, 1G, 2.5G, and 5G speeds over existing copper cabling. All 48 ports deliver Class 8 PoE with up to 90W per port and a total PoE budget of 2880W, supporting high-power devices including Wi-Fi 6E access points, PTZ cameras, and 802.3bt IoT endpoints. Four SFP uplink slots provide 10G, 25G, and 50G connectivity, two ports supporting up to 50G via DAC for VSF stacking, and two additional MACsec-capable 10G/25G SFP ports. Switching capacity reaches 880 Gbps with a forwarding rate of 654 Mpps and 200 Gbps of VSF stacking bandwidth, supporting up to 10 switches per stack. The CX 6300M runs AOS-CX with the Aruba Network Analytics Engine for real-time streaming telemetry, automated troubleshooting, and a built-in time series database. Layer 3 capabilities include BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, VRF, and PTP. MACsec 256-bit encryption protects uplink traffic. Dynamic Segmentation enforces consistent role-based policies across wired and wireless infrastructure. Managed via Aruba Central, web GUI, CLI, or REST API.
