The Cisco Catalyst 6800 Series offers an 8-port 40-Gigabit Ethernet module to serve a variety of high-bandwidth needs for the next-generation enterprise.Two models available:

C6800-8P40G: An 8-port 40 Gigabit Ethernet module with DFC4-E.

C6800-8P40G-XL: An 8-port 40 Gigabit Ethernet module with DFC4-EXL.

Backplane connection: 160-Gbps backplane bandwidth in Catalyst 6807-XL chassis.

Chassis/slot support: Can occupy slots 1–2 and 5–7 in a Cisco Catalyst 6807-XL.

Supervisor engine compatibility: Compatible with Supervisor Engine 2T, Supervisor Engine 2TXL, Supervisor Engine 6T, and Supervisor Engine 6TXL.
