The Cisco SA-VAM2+ VPN Acceleration Module is a powerful feature module designed for Cisco 7200 Series routers and the Cisco 7301 router. 

Feature Overview:

The SA-VAM2+ provides hardware acceleration for various encryption algorithms, including:

• • • Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with 128, 192, and 256-bit key sizes.
    • Data Encryption Standard (DES).
    • Triple DES (3DES).
    • IPv6 IPSec.

It significantly enhances performance for both site-to-site and remote-access IPSec VPN services.

Additionally, the SA-VAM2+ offers hardware-assisted Layer 3 compression services, which conserve bandwidth and reduce network connection costs over secured links.

It supports full Layer 3 routing, quality of service (QoS), multicast, multiprotocol traffic, and has broad compatibility with integrated LAN/WAN media.

Installation Options:

• • The SA-VAM2+ can be directly installed in the port adapter slots of Cisco 7000VXR series routers and the Cisco 7301 router.
  • Alternatively, it can be inserted into a Port Adapter Jacket Card (product ID: C7200-JC-PA) within the I/O controller slot of a Cisco 7200VXR router equipped with an NPE-G1 or NPE-G2 processor for additional bandwidth.
